Well, I haven't been on here in forever. Well, I have, but I haven't posted a journal. Not having internet sucks!!
So, in following with the title of this journal, allow me to get to the updates:
~ First and foremost, I'M ENGAGED!!!! Kyle, my boyfriend of over a year, proposed to me on Christmas day last month. I knew he was going to propose eventually, as last September-ish he told me, and I quote, "If we're still together by this time next year, I want you to be my bride." Melt! So I was going along my merry way and just enjoying being with him, and then on Christmas he got the drop on me. We hadn't talked about gifts or anything because neither of us had any money, so we were just hanging out and watching tv. All of a sudden he gets up and says, "well, I think I'm going to give you your Christmas present now." He hold out his hand for mine, and immediately what went through my head was that he was going to take me into the bedroom and show me a present he'd stashed in a sock drawer or something (or possibly even shut the bedroom door and tell me to unwrap him, lol), but instead of doing any of that, he immediately dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I let out the most girlish, high pitched squeal ever and threw my arms around him before kissing him stupid.
~ I FINALLY got a job! After several months of hardcore searching, I finally got a job as a cashier at WalMart. It's not where I want to be working, believe me, but it's still a job. I got hired on November 7th, and next month I will have been working there for ninety days. I'm supposed to get a review around that time, and if I pass muster then I'll be made a permanent employee and get my discount. Kyle is still looking for a job, but so far no luck. He has had a couple of interviews, but with us not having internet at home and now with me only having a couple of days a week to take him over to my mom's, his job search has come to almost a complete halt. Still, he hasn't given up.
~ I, and now Kyle as well, are miserable with either the cold or the flu. Neither of us can breathe that well and it feels like someone needs to take a plunger to my sinuses, there's so much pressure. Unfortunately I've already used all my sick days at work (you're allowed three per six month period, and I've already called in three times) so I have to suck it up and deal. Thankfully, though, because I'm only a part-time employee I have a fair share of four-hour shifts and those aren't too bad. Still, it would be nice if both of us could just get over being sick and not keep passing our germs back and forth.
Aside from those three major points, I can't really think of anything else that's going on. I've been wanting to start writing again, but I keep getting distracted by video games. I just started another game of Fable II and now I'm starting to get obsessed with God of War II for PS2. We've had that game for a while but until Kyle started playing recently I had no idea what it even was. I helped him figure out how to get past a couple of points by looking up a walkthrough on my phone, and now that I've started playing it I've almost reached the point he's at within two days. There's just not enough time in the day for everything I want to do!
